Professional Bio
Dr Marilyn Metta is the Director and Founder of The Metis Centre, a culturally responsive social justice organisation working to ensure women and children safety and wellbeing. As a leading expert, researcher and practitioner in coercive control and domestic abuse, Marilyn has over 25 years’ experience working with culturally diverse and First Nations children, families, and communities. She is Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the Indo-Pacific Research Institute at Murdoch University in Perth. As an award-winning author and researcher, she has published internationally on intimate abuse, coercive control, and family violence. She is the Founder and Chairperson of Mettamorphosis Inc, a humanitarian organisation working to promote access to education, safety and wellbeing for marginalised young people.
