Maria is a dedicated Psychologist and experienced Team Leader with over 10 years’ experience in trauma-informed and neuro-affirming mental health care. She has worked across metropolitan, regional, and remote WA, supporting individuals and families affected by complex trauma through not-for-profit organisations. Her leadership of specialist teams reflects a deep commitment to evidence-based, client-centred care.

 

Maria’s practice is grounded in lived experience and shaped by her work with people impacted by childhood sexual abuse, family and domestic violence, and intergenerational trauma. She is skilled in supporting both neurodivergent and neurotypical clients across the lifespan, with a particular focus on the intersection of trauma and Autism.

 

She advocates for adapting traditional trauma frameworks to better meet the needs of Autistic individuals, and her clinical leadership has driven the development of inclusive, trauma-sensitive, and neuro-affirming approaches. Maria brings deep insight and compassion to her work, promoting care that is both innovative and grounded in real-world experience.
