Professional Bio
Dr Katherine Watson (BSc, MBBS, MFMH, FRANZCP) is a Forensic Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist who works with young people in Queensland in contact with the criminal justice system, in both community and detention settings. She provides psychiatric care to young people who have experienced significant intrauterine and developmental trauma, and who resultantly display high rates of neurocognitive challenges and mental illness. She also provides support to Child and Youth Mental Health Services who are treating children who display high risk behaviours. She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland and was the recipient of the Adler Nurcombe Prize in 2025.
