Jordan Brown entered foster care at age 14 and after a short term placement moved into a long-term placement with his foster mum Claire and her family. Now in his late twenties, Jordan remains in contact regularly with Claire and has shared that her support and help has positively influenced his future and the person he is today. Jordan’s lived experience includes having made the difficult decisions to access support or himself and his siblings due to his family situation. He believes that the support carers receive from the care team professionals is an important part of supporting and advocating for carers and wishes there was more support available for them.
