Jack Davenport
Professional Bio
Jack is a social worker with over 15 years' experience in child protection across Australia and originally qualified in the UK. He moved to Tasmania in 2017 to work with the Child Safety Service as a clinical practice consultant for child safety officers. In 2022 he gave evidence to the Commission of Inquiry into the Tasmanian Government's Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in Institutional Settings, based on his experience of the out-of-home-care system. The experience introduced him to a wider community of Victim/Survivors and Whistleblowers, and he has since become active in advocating for reform of children's services and human rights in Tasmania. Now based in education, Jack continues his role as social worker in schools. Identifying as neurodivergent, Jack lives with autism, but was only recently diagnosed as an adult. He also identifies as a Survivor of child sexual abuse. Jack lives with his family in the Tamar Valley.
