Professional Bio
Associate Professor Graham Gee is an Aboriginal-Chinese man, also with Celtic heritage, originally from Darwin. His grandfather was born near Belyuen on Larrakia Country. Graham is a clinical psychologist and worked at the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service from 2008-2019. In his early clinician researcher work he helped to develop an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social and Emotional Wellbeing Framework and designed the Aboriginal Resilience and Recovery Questionnaire. From 2019-2025 he has worked as a researcher at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute, and he has recently taken up a position at the University of Melbourne. Since 2023, Graham’s primary research has focused on healing and recovery from child sexual abuse. He is leading an NHMRC Investigator Grant that involves 6 Victorian Aboriginal service partners, with a focus on supporting specialist workforce and co-designing initiatives with Aboriginal survivors of child sexual abuse.
