Professional Bio
Estella was born in Alice Springs NT and is a proud Western Arrernte woman. She belongs to a very large Aboriginal family with homelands west of Alice Springs and is one of the custodians for the famous Stanley Chasm. Estella has lived across the Northern Territory her entire life and brings years of experience in the community service sector. Most recently, Estella was employed as the Clinical Lead for the Safe Connections program working with young people who have exhibited harmful sexual behaviours. She is passionate about her own ongoing learning and sharing this with other people and organizations. Estella has a particular skill in establishing safety so that Aboriginal people can engage in these highly sensitive discussions without experiencing overwhelming shame. Estella’s greatest desire is to continue educating in these vulnerable spaces to create safer, more collaborative and more compassionate environments for her people.
