Emma’s journey is deeply personal and professional. Growing up in Country SA with two siblings with disabilities, and as guardian to her brother Matt, she intimately understands the challenges families face. Leaving school at 15 and becoming a mother at 16, Emma overcame early adversity, including a workplace injury and personal tragedy. She holds a Bachelor’s in Social Work and a Master’s in Disability Policy and Practice. Recognized for her resilience and dedication, Emma was awarded The Most Outstanding Social Worker in Australia in 2022 and 2023 by the Enablement Awards.
