Ellie has been working as a youth peer support worker with the Foundation since 2022. Overcoming multiples forms of adverse childhood experiences, Ellie has used her lived experience to help other young people to re-engage with education, learn new job skills and reimagine themselves with a positive and hopeful future. . Beyond her work at the Foundation, Ellie has advocated for systemic change for young people in out-of-home care and youth justice. Ellie won the Positive Achievement award at the 2024 WA Youth Awards and was also a finalist for WA young person of the year. In her non work time, she retrains off the track racehorses for second careers in the equestrian industry and runs a busy horse agistment centre in Perth’s southern suburbs.
