Professional Bio
Deb Howarth is a proud member of the Lived Experience Advisory Committee, a provisional psychologist and registered teacher with lived experience of childhood sexual abuse and religious/faith-based trauma. Her personal journey informs her commitment to trauma-informed, client-centred care and systemic change.
She has worked as a specialist family violence practitioner and senior child and family counsellor, supporting individuals impacted by complex trauma. Deborah is currently completing a Master of Clinical Psychology, with a research focus on protective factors that reduce stress in direct youth care work.
She is a passionate advocate for queer communities, victim/survivors of family violence, and those affected by family estrangement and spiritual abuse.
