Annie Cain
Yalu Aboriginal Corporation
Professional Bio
Annie has a background in child protection in NSW and the Northern Territory and her relationship formed with Yalu when working as the first place-based Team Leader for Territory Families in Galiwinku in 2020. Annie also worked in the same Yalu footprint communities of Ramingining and Milingimbi and was the manager of the Women’s Safe House in Ramingining. Annie maintained contact with Yalu after leaving Galiwinku and in 2022 an opportunity arose for the partnership to resume. Initially, she started as the Children and Families Program Mentor, but her role has grown to include developing and delivering training and the project lead position in the rollout of the Risk Assessment Management Framework which is a vital component of the Northern Territory’s Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Reduction Strategy. Annie's primary focus is to mentor and build the capacity of Yolngu Managers so her job will one day be obsolete!
